3D load planning, preview

Load smarterDrive leaner

Smart Load works out how to load a vehicle from carton sizes, weights, the vehicle, the delivery order and your loading rules, then shows the plan as a 3D model.

Plan a load for your vehicle

Enter the vehicle and the cargo to see how Smart Load would load it.

How does Smart Load work?

Three steps from a cargo list to a loading plan your crew can follow.

  1. 01

    Bring in the data

Orders, cargo and vehicles go in.

    • Optimized orders
    • Extra orders
    • Sizes
    • Weights
    • Quantities
  2. 02

    Smart Load plans

It applies your loading rules and works out the plan.

    • Delivery order
    • Heavy and light
    • Zones
    • Payload limit
  3. 03

    Review it in 3D

Rotate, zoom and replay the loading sequence carton by carton for the loading crew.

    • Colour per stop
    • Loading sequence
    • Load figures

Loading that follows real-world rules

Apply your own operating rules to get a loading plan that is both tight and safe.

  1. 01Delivery order

The first stop sits by the doors, so it comes off first without moving anything else.

  2. 02Heavy at the bottom

Heavy cartons form the base and light ones go on top, so nothing gets crushed and the truck stays stable.

  3. 03Zones

Each stop’s cargo is kept together in its own zone, easy to check off at delivery.

  4. 04Several rules at once

Combine the rules in one plan, always within the vehicle’s payload and each carton’s support.

Frequently asked questions

What is 3D load planning?

Working out where every carton goes in the truck body from its size, weight and delivery order, and checking the result on a 3D model before anyone loads the truck.

Which rules does the tool follow?

Delivery order (the first stop by the doors), heavy at the bottom, one zone per stop, and the vehicle’s payload limit. Cartons stay upright, may turn on the floor, and need at least 80% of their base supported.

Is this the same as Smart Load in Fleetwork?

This page is a preview: the plan is computed in your browser with a simplified algorithm. Smart Load in Fleetwork runs on the server, searches much harder and also handles fragile goods and crush limits.

Is there a 3D load planning API?

The load planning API is being finished. Talk to Fleetwork to try it early or plug it into your system.

What are the limits of the demo?

Up to 400 cartons, 12 cargo lines and 5 stops per run.
